Being the brave and adventurous kind of person, I was not to be deterred from my trip to the US from imminent dangers facing the traveler.
You know, like announcements of further terrorist attacks, police officers shot in the middle of the day on a busy street (actually happened while I was in LA), high-cholesterol fast food temptations, skin cancer from excessive sunbathing and immediate personal bankruptcy from too many shopping excursions.
